Veneers
are thin but durable “shells” that are custom-made to match your tooth color and length. Before adhering one to your tooth, Dr. Elias will remove approximately one-half millimeter of enamel to create an ideal surface to bond to and ensure your tooth maintains a natural level of thickness.
Veneers are better at resisting stains and cavities than natural enamel because they are non-porous. Avoid chewing ice and using your teeth as tools to ensure you don’t break or detach your veneers. It’s also a good idea to stay away from foods like popcorn kernels and hard candy.
Teeth Whitening
Dr. Elias offers both in-office and take-home teeth whitening options. A lot of you may find at a grocery store, or a pharmacy, often do more damage to your teeth than whitening.
They tend to have corrosive ingredients that eat away at your enamel which reveals the softer, yellow-tinted dentin. It’s better for your teeth to consult our dentist and choose a professional whitening if you want to get better results and avoid the damage to your enamel.
